Every year, it’s my pleasure to co-emcee/dj for the ‘Walk-N-Roll’ - presented by the Gazette Newspaper. It's to help raise money for the Spina Bifida Association Of Northeastern New York (SBANENY), and I’m all set to do it again.

SBANENY 2014 Walk-N-Roll (Spina Bifida Association Of Northeastern New York

The 2015 'Walk-N-Roll' will take place in Schenectady’s Central Park, on Saturday, May 2. Registration for this family fun event begins at 9:00 a.m., and the three mile walk event around the lake starts at 10:00 a.m. After everyone is finished and returns to the pavilion, the family and friends picnic begins. There will be also be prizes and refreshments for everyone that participates.

Last year, a little more than $28,000 dollars was raised. Another thing that you can do is get a group of people together and form a team. All of the information can be found on the SBANENY website, or If you’d like to talk with someone about this great event, you can call 518-399-9151. I would love to see plenty of WGNA listeners participate.

On Sunday morning, April 26, we’ll have a couple of representatives from SBANENY on our first segment of Capital Region Sunday, Karen Wentworth and Heather Horwedel. They’ll be talking about the SBANENY, so we can hear more about their organization. We did this show back in January, but since the walk event is a week away, I wanted to air it one more time. Capital Region Sunday will be on the air on 107.7 WGNA from 6:00 a.m. - 6:10 a.m.
