Plans have been approved for the first Upstate New York Chick-Fil-A in the Rochester area. Could Halfmoon be the next to get the thumbs up?

It has been a topic we have been talking about for a while now. It's hard to believe it has been over a year since Bethany first wrote about the Chick-Fil-A news fans in the Capital Region have been eagerly anticipating: the chain was getting ready to open a location in the area.

We did not hear anything for a while, then the story came back to life in October when news broke that the Capital Region location would be tentatively coming to Halfmoon. Then silence again.

Well, it is not a Capital Region update, but it is progress for Chick-Fil-A when it comes to getting that first Upstate New York location up and running. According to nyup.com, plans to open a restaurant in Greece (Rochester area) have been approved by the town board.

So once Chick-Fil-A starts serving their awesome chicken sandwiches and more in Greece, could the Capital Region be next? We have not heard any updates on the Halfmoon location, but hopefully this is an indicator we will hear something soon. If Chick-Fil-A was focusing on getting this first location up and running, hopefully they will now focus on getting a Halfmoon restaurant approved.

Cows all over the Capital Region will be thrilled, I am sure! And so will you and I when we finally get to eat there...
