An article on FoxNews.com lists 4 foods that are endangered, and I am having a big problem with it!

1. Maple Syrup

Little known fact about me... I was the Western New York Maple Queen when I was 17, so this one hits home to me!  Experts are saying that because of lower levels of rain acidity, extreme weather conditions, and pest infestations from global warming, Maple Syrup production is down and at some point could stop completely!

2. Chocolate

Rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns from global warming are making it hard to grow the chocolate crop, cocoa.  Well, if we run out of chocolate in my lifetime, we are gonna have bigger problems than global warming.  Trust me.

3. Honey

Bee colonies in the US are being wiped out by a disease called Colony Collapse Disorder, and without honeybees, there would be no honey!  What will we put in our tea?  This just can't bee! (See what I did there?)

4. Bananas

Bananas are a food group at my house!  It's sometimes the only produce I can get my kids to eat!  A disease known as Panama disease is threatening the world’s supply of bananas, and I am beside myself about it.

Look, I don't have solutions to any of these problems.  But I feel I had to make you aware of them.  And, since a couple of the foods are being wiped out by the effects of global  warming, maybe we should buckle down on our recycling, and maybe ride our bikes to work.  For the love of chocolate!
