I can't tell you the last time I have been to a movie theatre. I know we are all itching to do some of the normal things like catching a blockbuster movie in an actual theater but there is one theater that, even if they were allowed to show movies, has taken down their signs.

No one really knows what is going on with Bow Tie Cinemas in the Wilton Mall. They have been closed since March of 2020 due to the pandemic, but now their letters inside and on the building outside of the mall were taken down. According to the Post Star, there has been no word on what is happening with the movie theater or if it's relocating.

Seems pretty shady to me, there were pictures of construction workers taking the Bow Tie Cinemas letters off of the side of the Wilton Mall one by one on February 5th. There are two other BowTie Cinema locations in the Capital Region in Schenectady and Saratoga Springs. They have since reopened.

Although I have never seen a movie at the Bow Tie Cinemas, I always thought they had a different way to do the theater experience. Not only do they offer food but they also serve alcohol. Moviegoers must drink the alcohol in the lobby before heading into the theater.

Regal Cinemas and other theaters in the Capital Region have reopened some locations but not all. We can only hope, as the coronavirus numbers go down, more theaters will open.
