Every Wednesday night through August 24, the city of Troy celebrates summer with free concerts. It’s called “Rockin On the River,” and every week, it’s a different genre of music. There was an earlier blog about it.

This Wednesday, June 29, from 5 - 8 p.m., you can join me and WGNA for country night with live music from our friends The Hillbilly Horns.

They’ve been voted as the Best Local Country Band in 2010, and number two in 2011, in a Metroland Magazine poll. As their website/Facebook page says, “The Hillbilly Horns are the brass-kicking, seven piece, horn fueled, country band out of Upstate New York. ”

If you have never heard them, here’s your chance. All I can say is these guys are good. They’ve played for WGNA at several of our events including Northern Lights, and opened up for Countryfest 2010. Wednesday night, we will be welcoming this great bunch of talented guys to the Rockin’ stage. Bring the whole family out for an evening of fun with The Hillbilly Horns and WGNA.

If you’re not sure where we will be, the concert takes place in the Green Island Bridge Parking lot, in Downtown Troy, in the Hedley Entertainment District, just North of the Green Island Bridge. If it rains, there’s a big tent that’s put up, so you don’t miss out. Are you planning to join us?
