Ya gotta love Upstate New York. It's April, and we have a Winter Weather Advisory in effect tonight.

Spring has been in full swing for a couple of weeks now. But we probably have a few more weeks to go when it comes to being fully safe from winter's grasp.

While the chance of heavy snow has probably passed us by, annoying spats of winter weather continue. One of those spats will pass through parts for Upstate New York tonight (Wednesday, April 2nd).

National Weather Service Issues Winter Weather Advisory For Upstate New York

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 5 pm Wednesday, April 2nd through 11 am Thursday, April 3rd for the following areas of Upstate New York counties:

  • Northern Saratoga County
  • Warren County
  • Northern Fulton County
  • Hamilton County
  • Northern Herkimer County
  • Northern Fulton County
  • Windham

The NWS is calling for a mix of snow and sleet. Accumulations will be around 1/10 of an inch, and slippery road conditions will be a factor in these areas during the evening and morning commutes

This spat and cold spell should be short-lived: according to News Channel 13, temperatures will reach the 60s around the Captial Region late Thursday.
