Who Trashed the Set of a Capital Region Theater Company?
This is such a d**k move. The theatre troupe in Clifton Park, called the 'Not So Common Players', has been working on putting together their summer presentation of 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'. Their set was on the stage at the Clifton Commons when somebody vandalized the set.
It's believed to have happened sometime Wednesday.
A number of props were knocked over, broken, and marked with graffiti.
Regardless, a fellow community theater group, the Schenectady Light Opera Company, posted pictures of the vandalism on their Facebook Page asking for help on behalf of the Not So Common Players:
Our incredible theater community has pulled together once again! We now have enough hands to bring this beautiful set back to its glory. A big thank you to those who answered the call! Our friends at Not So Common Players truly appreciate the help!
A number of volunteers showed up to help fix the damage.
It looks like everything will be fixed in time and the show will go on. If you'd like to go out and support the Not So Common Players, the show is free and open to the public at the Clifton Commons. Show times are Friday, Saturday and Sunday night at 8pm.
Police were notified and they're investigating.
