Where’s Winter? Capital Region To See Spring Like Temps This Week
We need to stop getting weather predictions from a groundhog.
This year Punxsutawney Phil precited 6 more weeks of winter. And here we are getting ready for a burst of spring-like air later this week!
Albany Area To See Mild Spring-Like Temperatures Later This Week
Outside of a few snowstorms and that big arctic blast to kick off February it has been a relatively uneventful winter so far this year. Snowfall has been below average, and we have had some pretty mild stretches of weather. This week will be a VERY mild stretch for mid-February.
According to your News Channel 13 First Warning Forecast, here is what we are looking at this week:
Tuesday - Valentine's Day
For Valentine's Day on Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny, but still cold enough to snuggle up with your Valentine with a high of 44.
Wednesday
Wednesday is when that mild weather will really kick in. Some sun again with a high of 55. Get outside and enjoy it Wednesday because...
Thursday
The mild temps continue Thursday with a high of 56, but there will be a 60% chance of rain later in the day.
With these next couple days of spring-like warmth ahead, I would guess any snow we have left on the ground will melt away. Could this be the last snow we see this winter? Chances are no with a good 4+ weeks of winter still ahead of us - but it is feeling more and more like March will be more like a lamb than a lion!
