
Where’s A Good Corn Maze in the Albany Area? Here’s Our List!
One of the greatest things about fall is going to a corn maze. Not only are they tons of fun but they give you one of your last chances for the season to spend time outdoors. Here's where to go in the Albany area for a great corn maze - everything from the traditional to the haunted!
ELLMS FAMILY FARM
The Ellms Family Farm is 35 miles outside of Albany in Ballston Spa and features the modern version of a corn maze. Entitled the HERO RUSH Amazing Maize Maze, this years’ maze even includes a fire in the 5 acre corn maze. Most attendees complete the maze in 90 minutes but, don’t worry, there are plenty of other great activities at Ellms. Open weekends from 10a-5p for the season through October 28th, the Ellms Family Farm will also feature a special Moonlight Maze starting at 7pm on October 19th and 20th.
GOOLD ORCHARDS
Only 11 miles outside of Albany, Goold Orchards in Castleton is now open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. In addition to this years’ corn maze, Goold offers special events like the Muttville Circus, October 13th, and the Halloween Pet Parade, October 20th. Goold Orchands also has a farm store, bakery and cider mill.
ENGELKE FARM
Engelke Farm is located just outside of Albany on Garfield Road in Troy. The farm is open every day in October and visitors may enjoy their corn maze for only $5 per person. Every Friday and Saturday night, Engelke features a 30-minute Haunted Hayride, Corn Maze and bon fire package for only $20 per person. The hayride is not suggested for children under 7 years old.
BEST BET: KETTLE FARMS
The corn maze at Kettle Farms (pictured below) is one of the most intricate mazes near Albany with an “Alice in Wonderland” maze which is viewable from a 32 foot lookout bridge. Open Thursday through Monday, this Hoosick Falls farm has moonlight mazes, campfires and more. Admission is reasonable at $9 for adults (12+), $7 for children (4-11) and free for children aged 3 and under. The last day to enjoy this corn maze and its other activities is November 4th.
