Watervliet Arsenal Lands $47 Million Deal
The Watervliet Arsenal is going to work and they're bringing out the big guns… literally.
According to the Times Union, The deal was eight years in the making and was finalized yesterday. The Arsenal in Watervliet will be making roughly 145 Howitzer cannons for the government of India and will earn $47 million worth of profits from the order.
The deal was 8 years in the making and is the largest that the arsenal has had in over 30 years.
In 2016, the arsenal made just over $1 million in revenue from manufacturing foreign equipment.
This will be a great project for the Watervliet Arsenal and it is estimated that the job could take about 4 years to complete.. The TU article also states that the building employs over 500 people and with this job, they will be looking to fill 70 new positions.
