Top 5 Favorite Horror Movies — Scott’s Picks [VIDEOS]
It's Halloween and it's time for all the ghosts and goblins and scary creatures to come out trick or treating tonight. It's also the time of year that many cable channels show marathons of scary movies. I have been watching a lot of AMC and IFC the last few days. I absolutely love horror movies and here are a few of my all time favorites.
1. A Nightmare On Elm Street.
This is truly my favorite horror movie of all time. As a kid it truly gave me nightmares and it all has to do with a particular scene that involves Johnny Depp. If you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about. A remake was released a few years ago which was good, but there is only one true Freddy Kruger and that's Robert Englund.
2. Friday The 13th
The one that spawned numerous sequels and stars a young Kevin Bacon is by far the best of the bunch and Jason isn't even involved in this one. Truly stands the test of time, I can watch this one over and over again.
3. Scream
Not only is this a great slasher movie but it's also very funny as well. It is the perfect combination of horror and comedy, my two favorite movie genres.
4. Saw
I was freaking out when I saw the trailers to this movie a few years ago. It gets a bit gross at times but nothing tops the surprising end of the film that I never saw coming.
5. Poltergeist
Another movie I saw as a young child that had a few scenes that freaked me out a bit. An All time classic that saw it's share of sequels, but nothing tops the original.
I may have to sit back and watch of these classics tonight or maybe check out some new ones. It is certainly the best night for it! What are some of your favorite scary movies?
