It was last June that a husband and wife duo named Shawna and Keifer Thompson stopped in with a representative of their their label (Stoney Creek Records) and played me 4 songs acoustically in the WGNA conference room.

It was just them, a gutiar and their amazing voices. They are also songwriters as well, and I could feel the music as they filled up the small room full of broken office chairs and dry erase markers.

They did a song titled "Let's Fight" which was about their marriage, which for the record is very strong. Apparently a lot of friends said they were too damn happy all of the time and wanted to know why they never fought like everyone else.

That song was actually their first single, and it hit the low 40's on the chart and then fizzled. The next song they came with is their current hit which is just about ready to bust into the top 10 titled "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not".

After the conference room performance we went out, grabbed a steak at Delmonico's and talked about them, and what they wanted out of this life. They are very caring, honest people and this translates into their music.

Keifer saw me drinking 2 fingers of Johnny Walker Black and asked me why I chose it. I told him the difference between bad scotch, great scotch, the best scotches in the world and what makes them the best.

He then asked, "If you could have a bottle of anything, what would it be?". I told him Louis the 14th, which is over a grand a bottle because I could never afford to buy it myself.

We shook hands and Keifer told me that if they get a #1 hit he would buy a bottle of Louis the 14th and come back to visit me with his wife so we could all toast a drink from it. I may be getting it sooner than I expected!
