A popular ski resort has big plans and millions of dollars to overhaul and transform it into a year-round resort and vacation destination.

The Berkshires have many small ski resorts and one that has been closed down for fifteen years may be getting some new life. Brodie Mountain ski resort has yet another new owner.

As the weather gets colder and the snow flies, pile the whole family in the car and head about an hour south of the Capital Region. That is where you will find the largest snow tubing hill in New York state. It's a thrilling one-thousand-foot mini-mountain.

West Mountain has been part of the North Country in Queensbury since 1961 and there are big plans to expand it into a slopeside resort. There are a few things that need to be done first through town officials and the approval of the Town Board later this month. But the Planned Unit Development needs to approve the whole thing and the hope is that they will by the end of the year.

If you love to ski and want to make some extra money this winter, there is a local ski resort that is looking to hire locals. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, they are limited to hiring local instead of their usual workers from overseas.

Although I am not an avid skier, I was surprised to learn that one of the local mountains has opened for business. They are the only ones so far to declare that ski season has begun.
