New York - An auditing firm claims spending on the World Trade Center is out of control. The cost of the project has escalated by $4 billion over the last four years.
New York- Police chased a convicted felon yesterday over 40-miles of the thruway with speeds of up to 100 mph. The Rochester man led troopers on the chase from Fultonville to Albany.
National- A man in Washington deliberately set fire to his home, killing himself and his two sons. Josh Powell was the lone suspect in the 2009 disappearance of his wife, Susan Powell.
National- American Airlinesannounced Wednesday it plans to cut 13,000 jobs from their staff. The airline is the third largest in the nation with 88,000 employees.
State- Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver proposed legislation this week that would raise the state’s minimum hourly wage to $8.50 and index it to the annual rate of inflation. The current state minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, which matches the federal minimum wage set back in 2009.
National - The deadly capsizing of the Costa Concordia could cost a lot, coming at the worse time of year. Of course this time of year is the start of the peak of booking season for cruises.
