A gorgeous Upstate resort is getting some worldwide recognition from the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.

If there is one thing there is no shortage of here in Upstate New York, it is great resort destinations. Some that immediately come to mind are the Sagamore Resort on Lake George and the Mirror Lake Inn on Lake Placid. But to find the resort that was just voted one of the best in the world you will have to head about 90 minutes south of Albany!

Troutbeck Resort In Amenia Named Best In the World

Just east of the Connecticut border in the northern part of Dutchess County, you will find Amenia, New York which is home to the stunning Troutbeck Resort, which was voted the 49th best resort worldwide by Conde Nast Traveler readers.

Here is what Conde Nast had to say about Troutbeck:

It's the country retreat you wish your multi-millionaire great aunt invited you to every weekend. This historic inn about two hours north of NYC has been pulling in the literati and politicos for more than two centuries, but it only just expanded and seriously stepped up the vibe. This is still a country inn (tick off the reading nooks: the fireplace, the bar, the library) but one you'll absolutely hate to leave on Sunday night.

Now while the Troutbeck is certainly not a bargain travel destination, for one of the world's best resorts, rates are not out of this world starting in the $500 range and up. The resort offers wellness services, a farm-to-table restaurant with locally sourced ingredients, and simply stunning accommodations. Take a tour of the resort in the photos below!
