See Where Albany Ranks In US News & World Report’s 2017 Best Places To Live
Albany and several other Upstate New York cities rank highly in US News & World Report's 2017 Best Places to Live!
You and I know Albany and the surrounding towns are awesome, and it seems year after year the rest of the country, especially the media, are catching on. Albany has once again made their top 100 places to live in the United States, ranking at #30 overall.
So what does the magazine have to say about our city? The article describes Albany as '...a commercial and cultural center. The region doesn't have the crowds or costs of a major metro area, and Albany has an old-world appeal to it. There are rows of colorfully painted, turn-of-the-century brownstones, the historic state capitol building and the iconic Empire State Plaza.'
So how did other upstate New York cities do? Syracuse edged us out at #28, Buffalo landed at #33 and Rochester finished at #39. So it's pretty impressive that 4 Upstate New York cities landed in the top 50.
So what do you think makes Albany worthy of this honor? I think all the cool stuff to do, the proximity to Boston and New York City, and being close to a lot of nature make Albany great!
