Sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning, someone broke into the building that houses the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department.

The suspect, or suspects, broke a window to get into the to the building on County Route 25 in Columbia County. None of the equipment or vehicles were touched or stolen, but the fire department is now short about $300 dollars. That is what was taken from a cash box that is in the building. It is believed that the actual time frame of the break in happened between 10:00 p.m. Friday night and 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Now, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department is looking to find out who is involved in this robbery. According to the story from Newschannel 13 (WNYT), they would like a phone call if anyone has any information about this incident. Their phone number is 518-828-3344. There is no word on whether the suspects(s) knew about the cash box or not.
