04As the Hudson River winds through New York, it passes through some beautiful small cities. One of them is being recognized as the best place to live in the whole state.

Sometimes we spend a little too much time focusing on the negative in the Empire State. Like the worst towns in the state, or maybe the trashiest places to live. So how bout we come up for some positive air to highlight an AWESOME place to live?

Hudson Riverside City Named Best In New York To Live

When you think of Hudson River towns, spots like Hudson, Catskill, Waterford, and more come immediately to mind because of their history and charm. If you do not live in one of those riverfront communities, you most likely envision them all being amazing places to live!

One of our great riverfront communities once received some national recognition as being New York state's best city to live in!

The travel experts at 24/7 Wall Street bestowed this honor in each state because of each city's "...affordability, economy, quality of life, and community." And you cannot argue with their pick for New York. A quaint riverside town with easy access to New York City, high property values, and very low crime rates. And quite honestly, as you can see in the photos here, it is simply a beautiful location.

We are talking about the stunning city of Croton-On-Hudson. If you have ever taken the train down to New York City you are well aware of this Hudson River gem. Incorporated in 1898, the Croton-On-Hudson website describes the city as "...a suburban village with a thriving artistic community...(that) has retained the rich cultural diversity that dates back to its early settlement."

Living there is great, and visiting as well! There are many great attractions to check out in the city as well according to Trip Advisor. Spots like the New Croton Dam (Pictured above), Croton Point Park, and more are must-sees when visiting!

The best part about this community? It is an easy Amtrak train ride away!
