Popular Book, Comic and Music Store Chain Is Opening In Crossgates Mall

There is just something about buying a book or your favorite new album and holding it in your hands that cannot be replaced. A popular chain store is about to bring that experience to Crossgates Mall.

Don't get me wrong. I love the convenience of pulling up one of my favorite artists, albums, or songs on my phone with a simple tap of the screen. But there is just something exciting about anticipating the release of new music from your favorite artist and going to the store to purchase that album, especially in vinyl form, then holding it in your hands. Maybe it is nostalgia, maybe it is the experience of making that first exciting listen more of an event and a destination.

That is why I love the idea of a new store coming to Crossgates Mall that not only sells music, but also comics and books. There is also something about flipping those physical pages that makes reading more of an experience.

Crossgates Mall Announces The Arrival of Newbury Comics

Newbury Comics, the popular New England-based comic, book, and music chain, will be opening its first Upstate New York location at Crossgates according to a mall press release. The store has 5 other locations downstate and this will be its 31st store in the Northeast. Newbury Comics is also known for being a source for vinyl, all things pop-culture, and "...and eclectic variety of goods that amuse, entertain and offer customers a wicked good time...” according to the presser. 

Crossgates says Newbury Comics should open sometime in early October and will be located on the mall's lower level near the AT & T store.
