Outdoor Concerts Return To Troy, Rensselaer Cty. This Summer
Slowly but surely, live music is making its return to the Capital Region.
Which will mean live outdoor concerts making a comeback in Troy and Rensselaer Country in the months ahead. According to The Saratogian, plans are in the works for live music in downtown Troy, with the potential return of the Rockin' On the River series. Lansingburgh, North Greenbush, Schaghticoke, Schodack, East Greenbush, Brunswick, and Rensselaer would also host live, weekly music events. Vito Ciccarelli, the Rensselaer County Director of Tourism and Special Events, told the Saratogian that outside of any events in Troy, these events would all have the proper safety protocols in place including concert goer bringing chairs and staying in defined spaces during performances. the Troy events could look and feel a little different in a downtown location.
This really could end up being one of the best summers ever. More and more events are percolating, and with folks getting vaccinated, it feels like the public as a whole will be eager to get out and enjoy life this summer. After we missed out on so much last summer, I bet folks will want to make up for lost time and take in every single note of live music possible this summer.
While the jury may still be out on big SPAC shows this summer, the community schedules are certainly getting busier. In addition to the Rensselaer Country shows, Clifton Park also recently announced the return of the summer concert series to the Clifton Common stage. We fully expect more to follow in the weeks ahead.
