Two weeks into Robert Saleh's head coaching career with the New York Jets and fans are already beginning to question, "is this just more of the same?" After watching their discarded high first round draft pick quarterback of only a few years ago in Sam Darnold, knock off Gang Green's new shiny first round draft pick quarterback from this year Zach Wilson, in week one, Jets fans were again sick to their stomachs. Add in a nice week two, 25-6 Bill Belichick beat down starring his rookie quarterback Mac Jones at the helm and Jets fans are thinking very bad thoughts.

Could it be possible that that Jets front office got it all wrong again? Why in week 2 did a quarterback picked 13 picks after Wilson make Zach look like a high school QB? Is Joe Douglas another bad general manager just like Mike Maccagnan, John Idzik and Mike Tannenbaum were? Fans wonder will it be another 50 plus years before the New York Jets ever reach the Super Bowl again! AAAAHHHH!

Bad starts are nothing new for the Jets. The Jets have been 0-2 five out of the last six seasons. That other season, the Jets were 1-1. Patience is needed by the fanbase if Zach Wilson is ever going to have a chance to lead this team to the promised land. Andy Vazquez of northjersey.com was on The Drive with Charlie & Dan today. He thinks Wilson was a bit amped up for Sunday, the team's first home game of the season. Andy thinks Wilson will get better as the coaching staff gets better and so on. In this instance, I happen to agree.

I am not sure about Zach Wilson. I will take Andy Vasquez's opinion. I do like Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas. I think the Johnson's who own the team are bad luck, but I finally like the head coach and the general manager for the first time since Parcells. It takes time for teams to gel. It will take NFL game experience for Wilson to fully understand what his coaches are telling him.

It seems like the pieces are better. The Jets defense did what it could given the positions that Wilson alone put them in. There are still expectations on this team and their should be. Gang Green can't continue to make excuses. They have to simplify the options for their young quarterback and get first downs. The points will come. Be patient and good things will happen with this young team.
