Last month popular seafood restaurant chain, Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy and closed many of their eateries. The Capital Region was spared in the first round of closings but we aren't so lucky this time around.

It was announced on Thursday, June 6th that Red Lobster's bankruptcy will continue to close restaurants all over the country. Some have already been shuttered in New York State, and now we know the fate of one of our own.

In the latest article from CNN, they listed more Red Lobster closings, including the 750 Upper Glen Street restaurant in Queensbury. The report also listed many more locations in New York State including the Times Square Red Lobster, the Bronx, Long Island, and Buffalo.

Although there wasn't a date listed for these Red Lobsters to close, it seems inevitable that this once popular seafood chain will shutter more locations.

Red Lobster restaurants that were on the first round of closures in New York State were in Kingston, Scarsdale, Poughkeepsie, Nanuet, and Stony Brook.

After admitting that they had more than one billion dollars in debt and less than thirty million dollars available, the plan is to close most locations. There are six hundred Red Lobster restaurants throughout the country.

Unfortunately, there will be many more Red Lobsters to close. Right now the Red Lobster located on Wolf Road in Colonie continues to serve delicious seafood.
