Memorial Day, And Everyday, We Remember
As we enjoy barbecues and gatherings with friends and family this weekend, we also remember those who preserved those freedoms.
Memorial Day Weekend is a great time of the year. It's the unofficial start to Summer we all look forward to, when we start getting out and about in beautiful Upstate New York. But ultimately, it is a weekend where we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy these freedoms. Many of us today will attend a parade or other ceremony, and will take some time to really reflect and appreciate what Memorial Day means.
While Memorial Day itself is designated as the official day we remember our fallen heroes, honoring their memory is not confined to one day. To me, it is important to not only honor their memory today but throughout our daily lives. It is about how we treat others, all year long. Our brave men and women ultimately serve to protect and take care of our people and our way of life. We can honor this spirit in our own lives everyday.
Be kind to your neighbor. Help out someone in need. Stand up for what is right. By simply carrying on the spirit of what brave our servicemen and women stand for, we can honor them always.
Today we honor those who gave all, and their spirit will always lives on. God Bless the USA!
