There will be so many great Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies taking place in the weeks ahead, and the lighting in Saratoga this year will be extra special.

The Christmas Spirit will be in full swing for the 36th Annual Saratoga Springs Victorian Streetwalk Weekend with events scheduled for Thursday, December 1st through Sunday, December 4th, according to a press release today from Saratoga Springs Downtown.

The event will take place on Broadway in Saratoga Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 8 pm, and Sunday from Noon to 4 pm, featuring live music performances and so much more. You can see a full itinerary of events here.

But the main event of the weekend will be the Christmas Tree lighting on Thursday, December 1st. Broadway will be shut down from 6 to 9 pm for this festive event that will not only feature a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Clause to light the tree, but also a special musical performance by the Captial Region's very own American Idol!

American Idol Madison Vandenburg To Perform At Saratoga Springs Tree Lighting

Madison Vandenburg, who finished 3rd on American Idol in 2019, will perform some holiday favorites at the tree lighting along with some of her own songs including "The Light Of Christmas."  Madison had an impressive run on Idol a few years ago and has still maintained a great presence performing for fans here in the Captial Region amidst all her success.

In addition to the lighting festivities, Saratoga Downton says "Businesses will offer open houses throughout the evening and live entertainment, including carolers, ballerinas, musicians, jugglers, and more." You can get more information here.
