Laughs Return To Crossgates As Funny Bone Reopens This Weekend
It's another sign the Capital Region is coming back to life.
After 13 long months without any laughs, the Times Union is reporting comedians will take the stage and fans will return as the the Funny Bone reopen this weekend. Some pretty big names are scheduled to be providing the laughs as Damon Wayans, Brian Regan and more will be doing their stand-up routines. Josh Blue will kick things off this weekend with 2 shows on both Friday and Saturday nights and Wayans will do the same with 4 sold out shows next weekend April 23 - 25. Regan will visit in August and former TV host/comedian Tom Green will visit in September. A full schedule of upcoming events is up now at the Funny Bone website.
To start, crowds at the Funny Bone may be a little smaller than you are used to. The current reopening guidance for entertainment venues from the state of New York put a cap at 33% of normal capacity indoors, up to 100 people. But that is not the real story here: comedy and live fans and laughter are back, and the crowds will only grow as we move forward in 2021.
How great will it be to once again hear laughter inside the walls of the Funny Bone? Hard to believe it has been 13 months, but the laughs will certainly be worth the wait. Bring on the jokes!
