Kids Get Behind The Scenes Look At Saratoga Race Course Through New Program
This summer, the New York Racing Association (NYRA) has something exciting for kids and families. Starting July 27, NYRA is launching the Students of Thoroughbreds and Racing (STAR) program at Saratoga Race Course, running every Saturday and Sunday until September 1.
NYRA STAR is perfect for kids twelve and under who want to get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of thoroughbred racing. It's packed with fun events, educational activities, and cool ways to learn about horses and racing. And the best part? It's completely free.
Signing up is easy. Register online HERE or in person at the NYRA STAR booth in the Family Zone. New members can join anytime, but to get your official ID card and lanyard, you must stop by the booth on a Saturday or Sunday starting July 27th.
What do you get as a member? A personalized membership card with your photo, a cool lanyard, paddock tours, and a chance to stand in the Winner's Circle! Plus, you'll collect special pins featuring top jockeys, get exclusive emails, and more.
The paddock tours and Winner's Circle experiences are available every Saturday and Sunday during the first three races. Each tour can include up to four STAR members, and each member can bring two guests (one must be a parent or guardian).
Starting from the third week of the summer meet, you'll also receive a collectible pin each week featuring a different jockey. Just check in at the NYRA STAR booth in the Family Zone on weekends from noon to 3 pm to get your pin.
If you love horses and want your kids to learn all about racing, don't miss out on joining NYRA STAR this summer.
