Kelsea Ballerini Quits Snapchat
Kelsea Ballerini has called it quits with Snapchat.
The pop-country singer-songwriter, who has just announced the details of her much-anticipated sophomore album, Unapologetically, decided to ditch the live interactive app in favor of Instagram when Instagram introduced Instagram Stories, allowing the same interactivity in live time.
She announced her decision just prior to an appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday (July 26) in which she revealed the title and Nov. 3 release date for Unapologetically. "All right, today is the day that I ditch good ol' Snapchat and I'm starting Instagram Stories," she said, according to Nashville's Tennessean newspaper.

Her decision to leave Snapchat comes just weeks after she announced that she was taking a break from Twitter due to the uncivil tone of some users.
"Can’t even believe I’m having to post this, but my timeline is FILLED with people being so mean to each other. I love my fans so so much, & am sad to see the hate in these comments to each other. It’s not what I stand for, I just want to make music and people happy. That’s it," she posted on July 15.
That break was short-lived, with Ballerini returning to posting by July 17.
Ballerini has said that her sophomore album will depart from the lighter themes of her debut album The First Time and explore more mature themes. Many of the songs were inspired by a difficult breakup and finding new love with singer-songwriter Morgan Evans, to whom Ballerini announced her engagement over Christmas in 2016.
“I feel like I’ve been keeping a secret for two years that I finally get to tell,” she says in a press release. “I’ve never been more proud as I am of this record, the story it tells, and the heart my friends and I put into it. So, November 3, we get to start the next chapter! Unapologetically…”
