They say there is someone for everyone. One day you meet that person and you know instantly, there is something special about them. Next thing you know you are engaged, planning a wedding and ready to spend the rest of your life happily ever after.

The problem, for some, is that they keep meeting these "special people" even after their wedding day. What would it take to stop them? Perhaps the law as it is illegal to cheat on your spouse in New York. At least it is for now.

The New York State Senate states that a person is guilty of adultery when he engages in sexual intercourse with another person at a time when he has a living spouse, or the other person has a living spouse. § 255.17 Adultery is a class B misdemeanor with a penalty of up to three months behind bars and a $500 fine.

In the last 50 years there have been 5 adultery convictions in New York. If one New York assemblyperson has his way, this law will come off the books.
