Potential Opening Date For Albany Costco Leaked Online

Crews are hard at work getting the new Costco ready in the Capital Region. We may have also learned the opening date!

It has been years since we first heard about development of Costco coming to our area. It feels like the actual building of the property has happened very quickly and now in 2026 we're ready for this store to finally open its doors.

Driving past the current site in Guilderland it looks like Costco is very close to an opening date. I believe that assumption is very true as we might possibly know at least the month that it will finally be opening. Thanks to a Facebook community group called Albany Wants Costco it looks like Costco could be opening in August of 2026. While this is unofficial, it is very promising considering how far they've come.

We're not sure who Leo is, but he apparently provides excellent tips about Costco opening dates. It also looks like Albany isn't the only new store to open up in summer of 2026. They look to be joining new locations in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Obviously this is coming from a Facebook community page, but all signs point to to a summer opening just by looking at how much work has been done on the construction of that property. We hope that the source was correct, but you can count on being able to go grab a $1.50 hot dog and soda very soon here in the Capital Region. We've all been waiting long enough.
