4 Baby Falcons Living on Mario M. Cuomo Bridge

Every year as winter starts to come to an end and we anticipate the arrival of spring, we also get ready to welcome new chicks to the area.

Many New York Bridges are lucky enough to have peregrine falcons nest along their span. The Mario M. Cuomo Bridge in the lower Hudson Valley actually is home to a pair of endangered peregrine falcons that live in a nest box installed on the to provide them with shelter, according to the New York Bridge Authority website.

Well, it looks like 4 new chicks are calling that nest box home and now, they need names!

Help Name 4 Baby Falcons in The Lower Hudson Valley

Earlier this week the New York Bridge Authority announced that from now until May 22nd, the public can help name the adorable chicks. We know naming a baby can be difficult and thankfully, the New York Bridge Authority got some help from local students to narrow down the name field.

According to ABC7 NY, Rockland and Westchester County elementary schools students submitted more than 100 names as part of a contest with Veolia Water New York.

Those submissions were then narrowed down to 10. Here are the name nominees:

Brooklyn
Coco Puff
Empire
Estrella
Freedom
Jet
Millennium Falcon
Taylor Swoop
