The National Toy Hall of Fame has revealed its twelve finalists for this year’s induction, and the list includes balloons, the trampoline, Apples to Apples, and even the iconic Hess Toy Trucks. Also in the running are "Choose Your Own Adventure" gamebooks, remote-controlled vehicles, and the trusty stick horse.

These toys will be voted on by a panel of judges and the public, with the final decision coming in November. Rounding out the list are classic games like Phase 10, Sequence, and the Pokemon Trading Card Game, along with '80s favorites My Little Pony and Transformers, which are perennial nominees.

“These toys represent such a variety of play, from physical and whimsical to strategic,” said Christopher Bensch, the Hall of Fame’s curator. He noted that this year’s decision won’t be easy for voters.

Fans can vote for their favorites between September 18 and 25, HERE. The top three public picks will create a “Player’s Choice” ballot, which will count alongside votes from twenty-two historians and toy experts.

The National Toy Hall of Fame, located at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, has been honoring toys since 1998. Over eighty toys have been inducted, including everything from simple items like paper airplanes to cultural icons like Barbie and Dungeons & Dragons. Last year’s inductees included baseball cards, Cabbage Patch Kids, and Nerf foam toys.
