What Routes Are The Most Delayed?

If your vacation involves going to Florida, you may be waiting in the airport longer than expected. Flights to Orlando, Florida from Albany International Airport are two of the three routes that are the most delayed.

Cirium, an airline analytics company gathered data from March 2024. The data measured the routes from Albany International Airport and compared them to on-time percentages. ALB fared well overall with an on-time percentage of eighty percent.

However, some flights were constantly seeing delays. According to the Albany Business Review, the JetBlue flight to Orlando had the lowest on-time percentage at thirty-two with an average delay time of eighty-three minutes.

Southwest Airlines had two routes from Albany International Airport to Florida with a high delay rate. Southwest to Tampa had a fifty-five percent on-time rate and an average thirty-seven-minute delay. The other Southwest route was to Orlando, averaging a seventeen-minute delay and a sixty-four percent on-time rate.

Not Just Departing Flights, Arriving Flights Had Significant Delays

JetBlue had two routes from Florida to Albany International Airport that were often delayed. JetBlue from Fort Lauderdale's flights had an on-time percentage of forty-two with an average of forty-six-minute delay. JetBlue's on-time percentage from Orlando is only fifty-five with an average thirty-three-minute delay. American Airlines flights from Chicago ranked second with an on-time percentage of forty-four and a delay average of seventy minutes.

This will help passengers get refunds easily when airlines cancel or change flights, delay checked bags, or don't provide extra services passengers pay for. This is now in effect.
