My Nana grew up in South Troy and is my last remaining grandparent. She is so incredibly special to me. I wanted to do something that not only would be a great keepsake for myself and my family, but a way for you to also get to know Nana a little better.

For years she has been on the radio with me in the Capital Region, whether she was just checking in, doing Nana's Idol Picks during the height of American Idol or at times trying to give celebrities advice. She easily became,as some liked to call her, the Capital Region's own "Betty White."

In the second episode of Growing Up 518, Nana talks about what life was like during the Great Depression and winter fun in the middle of Troy.
