Greenwich Police Need Your Help! Can You Identify Individual that Fled Traffic Stop?
According to the Stanford Open Policing Project conducted by Stanford University, you have a 1% of getting pulled over by the police in a given year. That stat can change for a number of reasons but generally speaking, 99% of your time on the roads you will not be pulled over.
Should you be one of the unlucky 1% that the police pull over for speeding or any number of traffic violations, what should you do? First piece of advice is DON'T SPEED AWAY from the traffic stop!

State Police in Greenwich are asking for your help in identifying an individual that fled a traffic stop on Thanksgiving Day. The stop was on State Route 40 in the town of Easton.
The individual in question was traveling South, via motorcycle, from Easton into Schaghticoke on November 25, 2021 (Thanksgiving Day) If you have any information, New York State Police in Greenwich are asking you to contact them at 518-692-3001.
Should you find yourself pulled over by a New York State Police Officer here are some tips to keep in mind, according to the New York Civil Liberties Union:
- Stay calm
- Upon request, show the police your driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance.
- Don’t get into an argument with the police
- Remember that anything you say or do can be used against you
- Keep your hands where the police can see them
- Don’t run
- If you are arrested, ask for a lawyer immediately
- In certain cases, your car can be searched without a warrant. To protect yourself later, you should state that you do not consent to a search.
- If you are arrested, your car will be subject to a search
