If you're looking for something that is free and fun, and actually good for you then pay a visit to the Albany Farmer's Market at the Empire State Plaza.

There is no admission, and it features the best local produce from our very own local farmers. My mom and dad taught me years ago that you always need to try and keep your money local when you can for the good of the community. Not only that but this produce is fresher than anything you can buy in most grocery stores, and in most cases the price per item is much cheaper. Local corn, eggplant, green beans, tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes and more. If you can name it, there's pretty much a chance that a local farmer from our hometown region grows it. This is definitely worth the trip. Kids love these markets too, so bring the whole gang and do something that is good and free right here at home in Albany.
