Forecasters Predict a Post-Labor Day Heatwave in Upstate NY
Don't give up on Summer
Back to School, Halloween, and Pumpkin Spice all the things. While many of us in the Capital Region may have started to turn the page on summer weeks ago, the forecast for the next week or so calls for an early September heatwave.
Yep, you heard us right, actual summer weather.
If there's one thing you can predict about Upstate NY weather - it's going to be unpredictable, but this summer has been wild.
One moment it's sunny and 82 degrees, and then BOOM - here comes the thunder, lightning, heavy winds, and downpours.
Summer in the Capital Region may be winding down, but Labor Day weekend gives us one more chance to get away or stay local and enjoy lake life, dine on a deck somewhere, or sit out under the stars.
Forecasters call for temps near 90 degrees
Don't give up on summer just yet! Easier said than done considering the kind of summer we've already had.
But with school and the start, and a new NFL season on the horizon, it does seem fitting that what looks like the nicest weather of the summer is coming post-Labor Day, but we'll take it.
According to forecasters from the Weather Channel, the warming trend starts Labor Day weekend with temps in the mid-80s on Sunday, but on Labor Day, and through next Thursday, temps in the Capital Region are expected to be in the high 80s, touching 90 in some areas!
