Find The Belmont Themed Hidden Horseshoes Throughout Saratoga!
It's Belmont Week and if you want to participate in a fun scavenger hunt around Saratoga, this is for you! The "Find the Hidden Horseshoes" is back for the second year. These beautifully decorated and painted horseshoes are hidden all over Saratoga, and a few have a Belmont Stakes theme.
Capital Region can get involved in "Find the Hidden Horseshoes". Three hundred horseshoes that were formerly won by actual Saratoga racehorses were painted and hidden. If you find it, you get to keep it! Although this fun scavenger hunt has been going on since April, there are plenty still out there.
What Are The Horseshoes Themes and Where Can We Look for Them?
The three hundred horseshoes will all be Spa City themed with health, history, and horses. There are even a few with The Belmont Stakes Theme.
They are hidden on public property in parks and trails throughout Saratoga Springs. Check out all of the horseshoes and get information about the hunt by clicking HERE.
The specific venues to look for the painted horseshoes are:
High Rock Park
Congress Park
Spring Run Trail
Waterfront Park
Bog Meadow Trail
The hidden horseshoes will be at eye level and no ladders or shovels are required. No horseshoes can be found on private property. If you find more than one, you are asked to leave it for someone else.
What Do You Do If You Find a Hidden Horseshoe?
First of all, it's yours to keep! Thirty of the three hundred are decorated by local artists. If you find one, it will have a number to scan. Post a picture of your hidden treasure on the Saratoga Hidden Horseshoes website.
