We have all heard the expression, "Stop and smell the roses." A simple reminder to take a few moments once in a while to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us in life everyday. While I, like most, do not stop and notice all the things I should, once in a while something just catches me and I thought I'd share it with you.

Tonight after dinner I stepped outside and the sky was the most incredible shade of orange. It was casting the most incredible light off of the leaves, the houses, even the pavement. Then as I went out further the amazing rainbow caught my eye.

I took out my phone and really, in a matter of a few minutes caught some amazing pictures of "the beauty around me." As you look at them, I hope you find one or two of them as inspiring as I did when I took them, but more so, I hope it may inspire you to take a few of your own.

Remember though, the "beauty around you" comes in so many different forms. Your beauty may be in the smile of your lover, the unexpected hug from your child, feeling the air rush through your hair as you ride your bike down a hill with no hands!  Your life's beauty may be in the sound of your best friend's voice on the phone, a tap in birdie on a par 5, or just a hot bath or a glass of wine after a long day. For me it is all of these things and so much more.

Whatever it is for you, take a moment think about those moments, those "pictures" that happen in your life each and every day and don't forget to stop, if only for a second to "smell the roses."

Most of all, my friends, when you do this, learn to practice it each and every day and the most amazing thing happens. You begin to realize that the "beauty in your life" is not so much in the things and people around you. The beauty always comes from YOUR reaction and YOUR appreciation of those things. The true beauty always comes from within.

God Bless.
