Lisa Torres of Farewell Angelina has been keeping a secret for a very long time. She and her husband are having a baby, and soon!

Torres tells Taste of Country that she's due in October, meaning she got through nearly a full touring summer without spilling the news to anyone outside of friends, family and her bandmates. It was a hard secret to keep, especially because Nicole Witt, Lauren Lucas and Andrea Young started to guess pretty quickly.

"The change was I didn't have a drink one night when we desperately needed a drink to survive the evening," Torres recalls.

Adds Witt, "I think my phone call to you was, 'Pour it in the plant.'"

"She does not like to wear black," Young adds, "and she was telling me on the phone about this black dress that she bought and I knew it then."

Babies on the Brain? Introducing Bump Watch!

Torres and husband Chadd aren't going to find out if they're having a boy or girl until the baby is born. Her bonus daughter is really hoping for a baby brother, but the singer and guitarist says they're just hoping for healthy. There's no reason to think otherwise.

"Because things have been such a breeze for this pregnancy," she says, "I mean I'm already six months in and haven't had to make any adjustments so far."

No sickness, some discomfort — but nothing that has slowed her down in her first pregnancy. Torres' bandmates agree that she's led the way during long days and short nights on the road. Once the baby arrives she'll take a little time to get acquainted and recover, but she's eager to rejoin the band. There will be select shows in the near future that require Farewell Angelina to perform as a trio or invite a guest musician, but this was part of the quartet's five-year plan.

Earlier this year Farewell Angelina were named Taste of Country RISERS, an honor reserved for select newcomers in country music. The "If I Didn't Have You" singers won the fan-voted Hot Seat poll in January.
