Fall Forecast For Upstate New York: Will Warmer Temps Continue?
2024 has been one of the warmest years on-record in Upstate New York. Will that trend continue this autumn?
It started with a mild and pretty much snowless winter, followed by a pretty warm spring, and tons of heat and humidity this summer. It certainly has felt like one of the warmest years on record in Upstate New York. In fact in Syracuse, 2024 so far is the warmest on record according to Syracuse.com
Old Famer's Almanac Weather Predictions
The Old Farmer's Almanac has revealed its fall forecast, but how accurate are its outlooks? If recent history is any indication, not that accurate. This past winter the Almanac called for "... a freezing-cold, stormy and snowy winter for New York State." We all know how that turned out. But, hindsight is twenty-twenty.
Will Upstate NY's Mild Weather Continue This Fall?
Fall could finally be the season that bucks the 2024 warm weather trend according to one seasonal outlook.
The Old Farmer's Almanac has revealed its forecast for Fall 2024 predicting 'near average temperatures' for the region. The Almanac is also calling for below-average rainfall. Average temperatures and low rainfall could lead to some stellar fall foliage this year.
Only time will tell, but if this one pans out - we could have a picture-perfect fall ahead here in the Capital Region and Upstate New York for apple picking, leaf-peeping, and mass cider doughnut consumption!
