Dramatic Video Of Saturday’s Stillwater Tornado Touchdown

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched the ground in the Stillwater-Schaghticoke area between 5:25 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday. I was on my up to the Malta Drive-In for the Metallica Drive-In concert when I heard the EAS warning on my phone and the radio. It rained so hard that I had to pull over for a few minutes.

Jeffery Quackenbush filmed the tornado touchdown near Meehan Road. There were reports of trees down, power outages, and roof damage.  The National Weather Service will be surveying the damage in Schaghticoke, Stillwater, Mechanicville, Valley Falls, and other areas around the Capital Region to determine what category level tornado came through Saturday afternoon. Several houses were damaged and at least one injury was reported from the tornado.
