Why Create Outdoor Dining in Downtown Saratoga?

Dillon Moran who is the Commissioner of Accounts for Saratoga Springs has proposed a local law that would make outdoor dining a permanent fixture until 2025. He says that the City Council agrees too, according to the Daily Gazette. The President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, Todd Shimkus is all for the plan. He said:

The reality is those outdoor patios saved a number of restaurants over the last two years, particularly when they were limited in terms of how many people they could have inside.

The plan would include not allowing vehicle traffic on specific downtown streets that have restaurants. It would go into effect on weekends during the spring and summer months.
