I am a big fan of country music. I grew up with it in my house. Johnny Cash, The Statler Brothers, Charlie Pride, Alabama, etc. The list goes on and on. I also grew up a fan of rock music. Being a kid in the 80's I became a fan of the "Hair Bands" like Poison, Motley Crue, Warrant and so on. I still listen to it today and listen to alot of todays big rock bands along with the country tunes.

We've seen many rock artists that are influenced by Country like Kid Rock and Aaron Lewis. Many Country Stars of the last few decades were very influenced by rock music as well. Garth Brooks stated early in his career one of his biggest influences was the band KISS.

Joe Nichols has broken out Nickelback's "Rock Star" at many of his shows. He has joined the band at their shows as well.

Tim McGraw joined Def Leppard for one of their tunes in 2008 called" Nine Lives"

And we can't forget Carrie Underwood rockin with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler on the ACM's earlier this year!

So there is nothing wrong with being a country boy or girl and rocking out every once in awhile. If you too like to rock, you may want to join our sister station Q103 as they present Q-Ruption at SPAC this Friday night. It is sure to be one big party!! It might be a little rowdier than Countryfest, but even Hank Williams Jr. had rowdy friends!
