It has been a lackluster winter as far as big snow in Albany. But could it be one of the least snow ever for the Capital City?

With a good 4 weeks of winter to go, you would have to guess the chances are slim of having one of the smallest winter snowfall totals ever in Albany. That said, we are entering the last week of the month, and at the moment while some areas outside will see snow it does not seem our immediate forecast will add to our Albany snowfall total.

So far this winter News Channel 13 says we have seen 23.9 total inches of snow in Albany. And while we have some wintry weather in the forecast this week, it does not seem like we will see any real accumulation in the Albany area at this point.

So could this winter be one of the 10 all-time lows for snowfall in Albany? We would need about another 5 and a half inches of accumulation for that to happen. So lets say for argument's sake we do not get any more accumulation in February. March could still give this winter a final knockout punch as the National Weather Service says the average snowfall for the month is typically 12 inches.

So while the snow has not been plentiful this year, it still has not been as snowless as some of the past winters below.
