Trustco Bank has honored several of its members who have given back to the community by inducting them into their Hall of Fame.

We always love to hear about people from our area making a difference in the community. Last month, Trustco Bank honor three such people with the 2017 class of their Hall of Fame.

Carolyn Valli, Mary Ellen Whitney, and Spero Zoulas have all made a big difference in our community, from volunteering for Habitat for Humanity to working to revitalize local parks, these three all deserve the distinction they have earned.

Here is what Trustco had to say about their inductees in their own press release:

'2017 Inductees to the Trustco Bank Hall of Fame

Carolyn Valli – Since joining the Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity, Carolyn has completely dedicated herself to the organization. Carolyn’s drive and passion for the organization is matched only by her passion for the community and making a better place for not only habitat homeowners, but for all.

Mary Ellen Whitney – Mary Ellen founded STRIDE Adaptive Sports, an organization that allows individuals with disabilities to participate in sporting activities, based on a need identified while working as an adaptive physical education teacher. Since its inception, STRIDE has grown to be a premier organization in the northeast offering 17 different sports in 26 locations.

Spero Zoulas – Spero led the revitalization efforts to rehab and sustain the Woodlawn Park in his neighborhood. By leading this effort, Spero has created a true hometown feel by engaging his neighbors to be more involved. He schedules monthly meetings and spearheads fund raising efforts to ensure the park and sense of community continues for years to come.'
