Click It Or Ticket Campaign In Full Effect Memorial Day Weekend

As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, Click It Or Ticket will be in full effect!

Across New York State, police will be cracking down on unbuckled drivers as part the Click it or Ticket campaign.

The Click It or Ticket campaign will begin Sunday and run through June 5.  Police in the Capital Region will have several road checks and increased patrols to monitor seat belt use.

It seems strange to me that people are not using seat belts, however the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that nearly half of the people involved in fatal crashes in 2015 were not restrained. Police are also reminding us with this campaign, to make sure child safety seats are installed correctly as well.

In addition to buckling up this weekend, Memorial Day Weekend is a huge barbecue weekend so we all need to be careful out there.  If you are going to be out and have a drink, please make sure you have a plan and a sober driver.
