Checkpoints Expected All Weekend For Driving Safety

This weekend is St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Its a weekend that’s usually a big time for people to celebrate. In order to help prevent unsafe driving conditions, and possibly avoid any casualties.

In a story from News 10 ABC, this safe driving campaign was set up by the New York State Police. In addition to patrols that will be checking for drivers that may have had too much to drink, they’ll also be watching for underage people drinking and getting alcohol.

If you’re planning to celebrate this weekend, make sure that you have a safe way to get home. Have a plan in place if you’re going to be drinking, perhaps have a designated driver or call a cab, or if you can, stay at the place where you’re partying.
