Certain neighborhoods and streets in the city have fallen victim to urban decay, and have struggled with rising crime rates in recent years. What's really a shame, as well, is that a number of the neighborhoods that crack this list, have centuries worth of history and architecture within them.

As history grows further and further away from the present, however, even the best-kept buildings start to show their age. As the years take their toll on certain areas, the quality of life has suffered, too.

The website Area Vibes provides statistics on the safety of neighborhoods in cities and towns across the country, and provided some interesting insight into the state of the union in the state capital.

Now, before I get to the list, let me say this: there are a number of great people who live in the neighborhoods below. The city of Albany is made up of thousands of hard-working citizens, all of whom make it one of the most unique cities in the United States.

This isn't a commentary on the neighborhoods. These are simply statistics on the crime that happens in certain areas of the city, compared to the average crime rate from the city itself.
