Capital Region Homes Supporting The “Teal Pumpkin Project” On Halloween
If you looking to see what homes in your neighborhood are supporting the Teal Pumpkin Project on Halloween this year, I can help you!
The Teal Pumpkin Project, now in it's third year, is set up to support and bring awareness to food allergies, and it's in full effect this Halloween!
The reason to put a teal pumpkin on your front porch this year, is to let trick-or-treaters know that you are handing out allergy safe treats! One of the major goals of the Teal Pumpkin Project is to “create a safe and happier Halloween” for all kids! According to the Teal Pumpkin Project, 1 in every 13 children (under 18 years of age) in the U.S. have a food allergy? That’s roughly two in every classroom.
I think we should all join together and make this a fun, safe Halloween for all!
The Teal Project has this awesome interactive map set up, so if you are looking for houses in your neighborhood participating or you want to let others know you are participating, its all right at your fingertips with this map.
If you need some ideas on what to hand out as a safe candy alternative, there is a great list on the Teal Pumpkin Projects website!
Happy Halloween to all!
