Beloved Rensselaer Eatery That Re-Opened 6 Months Ago is Closed

After just six months of resurrecting a popular Rensselaer restaurant, the doors are closed again.

Casey's 518 formerly Casey's Restaurant at 77 Washington Ave in Rensselaer made an announcement on its Facebook page on July 1st. Casey's stated that the restaurant had closed for good.

Hello to our Casey’s 518 Customers, Friends, and Family

It is with so Much Sadness but so so much Love and Gratefulness that We are Announcing today … the Closing of Casey’s 518. We are hopeful it will Someday open again under new ownership.

We were only here a short time but we found a lifetime of friendships and memories.

Who Were The Original Owners of Casey's Restaurant?

Jimmy Casey who owned Casey's Restaurant for nearly thirty years retired in November of 2022. He sold the eatery and the new owner, Danny Fumarola opened the restaurant as Casey's 518 in January 2023. They were open seven days a week offering dinner service and brunch on the weekends. The announcement of the closure came just six months after it reopened.

The owners are optimistic that Casey's will reopen again someday.
